The Annual Lion’s Club Festival of Trees in Grand County is the event of the season that brings in donations through the silent auction of trees for many local Grand County charities. There were over 20 trees decorated for the event, many with several donations from local businesses to ‘spike’ the bidding on their tree. The minimum starting bid was $150 per tree, with $20 bid amounts thereafter. Each tree was sold for well above the minimum asking price.
The Grand County Board of Realtor’s tree with the theme, “The Grand Lifestyle”, was the most sought after tree at the event, raising the highest bid of $420! With over 19 donations attached from local Grand County businesses with an approximate donation value of $100, the tree was a steal! Proceeds from the tree sale went to the Mountain Family Center in Grand County.
Congratulations to Chip and Melinda Besse, the new owners of Grand Adventures Snowmobiling, and Powder Addiction Snowcat Ski tours for submitting he winning bid, and thank you for your generous donation to the Mountain Family Center.
